The leading multi-brand cosmetics retailer is kicking off the e-commerce innovation with luxury players such as Rodial, Dr Barbara Sturm and Butter London

Nykaa, the Indian beauty retailer, has rolled out a cross-border online shopping platform to help consumers access international brands.

The Global Store is available via the Nykaa mobile application and displays one price which is said to include customs, duties and taxes.

"While we have witnessed the demand for a diverse range of international brands from consumers over time, these brands have faced multiple challenges in the past to enter the Indian market," said a spokesperson for Nykaa.

"This platform aims to effectively bridge the gap between global brands trying to tap the Indian market and customers who desire to shop for the best of the brands."

The brand partners selected are said to reflect global trends, particularly "specific skin care concerns, artisanal beauty, mineral-based make-up, plant powered hair care and science-based clean beauty".

Nykaa has highlighted Dr Barbara Sturm, Pur Cosmetics, Cosmedix Skincare, Erno Laszlo Skincare, Rahua and Rodial among its portfolio.

Founded by former investment banker Falguni Nayar in 2012, Nykaa has grown to become the subcontinent's leading multi-brand cosmetic retailer and is said to be planning an IPO at US$3bn value.
