Businesses across the beauty industry have responded to a referendum on the UK's membership of the European Union scheduled to take place on 23 June. A number of key retailers and several brands have publicly declared their support for the union to remain in place as political parties campaign across the UK, while other businesses have chosen to remain politically neutral on the subject.
Li Ka-shing, Chairman of CK Hutchison, which owns the AS Watson Group has shared his views. He told The Business Times that he would “surely” scale back investments into the UK if it voted to leave the EU. Ka-shing said: “If ‘Brexit’ really happens, we will surely decrease our investments. The possibility of Brexit is small if British people care about their own interests.”
