Cognis integration in BASF will generate €275m
BASF's personal care portfolio to be strengthened
Chemical company BASF has announced its integration plans for personal care manufacturer Cognis, expecting to generate €275m additional earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) thanks to the integration. Altogether the company aims at generating an additional EBIT of €135m by 2015.
Synergies of around €140m will be achieved by the end of 2013 according to predictions.
“Through the acquisition, we have strengthened our activities in attractive growing markets such as personal care and home care, nutrition and health, coating additives synlubes and mining chemicals. The businesses complement each other excellently,” said Dr. John Feldmann, member of BASF’s board of executive directors.
According to BASF, the major parts of the structural integration will be completed by the end of 2011.
