Hair care brand Aussie has appointed celebrity radio DJ Maya Jama as its first-ever celebrity ambassador for a reported six-figure sum.
The British TV personality will front Aussie’s new #GreatHairThough campaign and lend a sympathetic ear as its resident agony aunt.
To kick off the partnership, the 25-year-old will host an event in London, UK, on 5 December to discuss Aussie’s product line, talk to fans and DJ a live set.
“It’s about time. Aussie has finally got the hint and brought me on board, I’ve been an unofficial ambassador for years,” said Jama.
“Aussie has been a firm favourite since my teens, Miracle Moist 3mm has been saving bad hair since day dot.”
The brand’s #GreatHairThough campaign launched earlier this year as a positive way to turn awkward moments into funny stories.
Yasmin O’Neal, Aussie’s Brand Manager, added: “At Aussie, we celebrate imperfection, we’re bold, unapologetic and strive to be authentically relatable.
“Our latest campaign is the perfect platform to do this by turning everyday disasters we’re all faced with into #GreatHairThough.
“Signing Maya as the brand’s first-ever ambassador is a significant moment [...], which prides itself on being more than just a hair care range but an attitude in life.
“There really was only one person to be the face of the campaign, always embracing those moments that don’t always go to plan - but always with great hair.”
Jama will also appear in digital content across Aussie’s social media channels to promote its #GreatHairThough campaign.
