YOOX Net-A-Porter Group poaches Sephora’s long-term Global COO

Effective 21 May, Olivier Schaeffer, newly appointed Global Chief Operating Officer will report to the online retailer’s CEO Federico Marchetti

Online retail company YOOX Net-A-Porter Group has announced its new Global Chief Operating Officer will be Sephora’s long-standing COO Olivier Schaeffer.

Schaeffer spent 16 years at the US beauty retailer, starting as the company’s French CFO, and eventually heading up the company’s omni-channel expansion.

In his new role, Schaeffer will lead the fashion and beauty retailer’s global Operations and Technical teams, reporting to the group’s CEO Federico Marchetti.

Marchetti said: “I am very happy to welcome Olivier to our team. We want to accelerate YNAP’s ambitious plans to grow globally.

“That’s why we asked Olivier to join us as Global COO. His decades of relevant experience are a perfect fit with our needs.”

Prior to his appointment at Sephora, Schaeffer served seven years at French multichannel retailer Carrefour.

Marchetti added: “Olivier will be a key asset to take us through this next phase of our growth.”

Schaeffer currently also lectures at HEC Paris business school in ‘Strategies for International Expansion’ where he studied from 1989 to 1990.
