Knoll Printing & Packaging has developed and manufactured the 2014 US Holiday Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Collection. The design combines classic holiday graphics with an origami top, difficult constructions and an ‘intelligent’ light system.
The collection has four sets and three complex shapes. Two of the four sets have a slide feature that allows the consumer to open the box sideways, revealing the product in a vacuum form. Two sets split open vertically, while the product glows from hidden lights.
Although lights and sound have been produced before, the mechanism for this program is unique and includes a string of lights, a high quality battery, custom manufactured chip with magnet contact and shut off timers. The origami top using the classic graphics combined with the textural effect on the sculpted vacuum form, are details of the package.
