The company has said it will provide hand sanitiser bottles and pharmaceuticals for companies across the world during the pandemic

Chemicals company Lubrizol has pledged to donate US$2m worth of goods in support of global efforts to tackle the spread of Covid-19.

As part of the promise, the company has already donated $325,000 in critical supplies to hospitals and charities in China, supported medical staff in the US and Europe, and established a gift programme with humanitarian organisation American Red Cross.

Meanwhile, as part of its scientific efforts, Lubrizol has said it will deliver one billion bottles of hand sanitiser globally every month, provide devices and pharmaceuticals for its medical customers, and supply thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) protective garments, including face shields, hoses, tubing and cables.

“Everyday our employees deliver products that enable the world to move cleaner, create smarter and live better and our team is fully committed to meet those needs, do it safely and deliver even greater impact during this global crisis,” said Eric Schnur Lubrizol’s President and CEO.

“In addition to the work that ends up in critical end-use products, we have been and will continue to support communities in need throughout this pandemic.”

As well as protecting other companies, the US-based firm is said to have retained all of its 8,800 staff members.

Employees are working from home where their roles allow, while the number of on-site staff has been reduced and social distancing rules have been implemented.
