UK-based skin care treatment clinic sk:n has been acquired by private equity company TriSpan in a deal worth £35m.

The company works to support a range of companies in the lower middle market through its two financial initiatives, the Rising Stars Fund and its Opportunities Fund.

It has formerly supported brands across the food industry, Rosa’s Thai Cafe, Yardbird Southern Table & Bar and Thunderbird Fried Chicken.

Through sk:n, the investment group will work with the existing management team to continue to develop and expand the business, led by CEO Darren Grassby and CFO Simon Hope.

Commenting on the deal, Grassby said: “We’re very excited to take sk:n to the next level and confident that the combination of our highly experienced team with TriSpan’s experience in rollouts, plus its network and its international exposure will enable us to propel the business forward.”

Meanwhile, TriSpan’s European Private Equity Partners, Fady Michel Abouchalache and Joseph-Patrick Dib added: “We’re excited to support the brand’s strong management team to consolidate its leadership position and drive growth across multiple avenues.”

Based in Birmingham, sk:n operates 51 clinics across the UK, specialising in non-surgical cosmetic procedures.

The brand also has its own range of skin care products.
