Applying beauty products can be a fun and creative process for consumers, however some are more difficult than others to use.
So what are the most frustrating and time consuming beauty tasks? While a lot depends on how often a consumer uses a particular product, some applications are just plain tough.
A new survey by falseeyelashes.co.uk has revealed which parts of a beauty routine consumers struggle to do themselves – presenting gaps in the market for your brand to fill.
Dyeing hair/roots
In fifth place for the most infuriating beauty task goes to ‘at-home hair dye kits’ as 27% of respondents shared their frustration doing a DIY job.
Applying false eyelashes
Whether it’s glue in the eye or a wonky result, a third of respondents banded together to reveal they need a bit of help when it comes to applying falsies.
“The saying that ‘practise makes perfect’ couldn’t be more true than in this situation. Many women now find a little time to practise their make-up, or applying false eyelashes or even different hair-dos in advance of having to do it on an occasion where they need to look good,” said Nicholas Whitmore, Managing Director of falseeyelases.co.uk.
Painting nails on ‘the other’ hand
Left handed or right handed, half of the 2,381 British consumers surveyed are well aware of how useless a shaky hand is when it comes to painting their nails.
Attempting an up-do
After a couple of hours lusting over that perfect Pinterest hairstyle, they’ve finally made the decision to give it a go themselves – but 59% of respondents confirmed it never turns out quite the same.
Whitmore added: “There are so many beauty bloggers out there on hand with videos, tips and advice, but it’s good to have a friend or a partner that doesn’t mind pitching in to help to ensure you look and feel your best.”
And the winner goes to….
Claiming the top spot for the most challenging beauty task with 71% of votes, is ‘fake tanning your own back’.
Quite simply, nobody’s hands bend that way.
