Swarovski targets a younger audience with Miss Aura

This autumn, the Austrian jewellery company Swarovski will be launching Miss Aura, a limited edition flanker to Aura by Swarovski (2011). Produced under licence to Clarins, the new scent is said to be lighter and aimed at a younger market.

Created by perfumers Véronique Nyberg and Aliénor Massenet of IFF (International Flavors and Fragrances), it has head notes of pink grapefruit, lychee and ivy; heart notes of rose and buddleia; and base notes of vetiver and patchouli. The tall, cylindrical bottle is encased in a pale pink metallic sheath surmounted with a Swarovski crystal and features a design of butterflies taking flight, while the outer packaging also features the butterfly motif in pastels.

The marketing visuals, created by British designer Shona Heath and shot by photographer Tim Walker, again play up the butterfly motif in showing a young woman in a pale pink dress and wearing a Swarovski bracelet. In the ad visuals to be released in the Middle East, the room is identical but the girl does not appear. The fragrance, in 30ml and 50ml edt format, will be sold in the greater Europe markets, including Scandinavia, Malta, Eastern Europe and Israel; the US and Canada; parts of southeast Asia, including Japan and Korea; Dubai; and Mexico.
