The launch of the new Sunkissed Rapid Tan mousse has exceeded all sales expectations, with the product selling out within the first month of launch.
The new mousse formula contains an active ingredient that works with the proteins in the skin and DHA (Dihydroxyacetone) tanning ingredient to speed up the tanning process resulting in a natural golden tan in just 60 minutes.
Stephen Sharman, Managing Director for Rainbow Cosmetics, the company behind Sunkissed comments, “We were confident that the Rapid Tan would be a success following the positive feedback we received from our product trials and initial blogger outreach, but as a relatively new brand to the market we were surprised at just how quick the pick-up has been.”
The Rapid Tan is one of four innovative Sunkissed product launches for 2015; which is helping to sustain continued growth of the brand. Sales are up 21% in value for the same period in 2014, tracking approximately 12% ahead of the tanning category.
In April, Sunkissed launched the first tanning formula designed to work with the skin’s tone to result in a beautiful natural looking tan. The Instant Tanning Gels are available in Cool and Warm skin tone and feature on pack communication on how to choose the right shade for your tone.
Another first to market launch is the Sunkissed Double-Sided Application Mitt. The company states the mitt has been developed in response to consumer feedback; ‘how the single sided mitt leaks onto the back of hands’ and ‘how difficult or awkward it can be to tan the back’.
The new mitt combats both these challenges, and the higher retail price compared with the single-sided mitt is justified because the new mitt lasts twice as long - you can use both sides!
The Sunkissed range, which now totals 10 sku’s, is available in Superdrug, Top Shop, Morrisons and a number of high street fashion and beauty stores.
