Re-launches Strompack, Stromcard and Tecta product lines

Finnish board manufacturer Stromsdal – which was forced to close in 2008 due the financial crisis – is now supplying board under new ownership and with a new name: Premium Board Finland. The company acquired Stromsdal’s assets in March this year and recently restarted the mill in Juankoski, in the east of the country. It is now offering clients surface pigment coated folding boxboards for premium packaging, under its Strompack and Stromcard lines. “Strompack is a GC2 packaging board with a double-coated surface and uncoated back and Stromcard is a GC1 fully coated paperboard with one coating on one side and two on the other,” explains Val Samoriz, ceo of Premium Board Finland.

In addition, the relaunched version of biodegradable dispersion-coated barrier board, Tecta, is said to be an improvement on the original product, thanks to a renewal of the coater prior to the mill closure.
