Patented silane coating results in improved skin feel
In the current busy multimedia climate our senses are truly buzzing as more and more distractions cause us to become more aware of our surroundings. It is believed that the increase in touch screen technology has heightened consumers’ sense of feel. It is predicted that by the year 2016 a total of 10 billion smart phones and tablets will populate the earth, of which 97% will feature touch screen technology. Sense of touch resonates through many high end fashion and beauty campaigns and consumers are seeking new sensory experiences in all areas of their lives.
Up until now the sunscreen industry has not been able to deliver the advances and feel that consumers have demanded, without the use of silicones. Croda has recognised this demand for new sensory experiences and so for the past few years the Sun Care & Biotechnology team has focused on technology to deliver new sensations and is delighted to announce the launch of Solaveil ST-100.
Discover a sensational skin feel with Solaveil ST-100, a new titanium dioxide (TiO2) dispersion that combines optimum UV performance with enhanced aesthetics enabling you to formulate sensationally light and luxurious UV protection products. Featuring innovative silane coating, which is covered by an international patent, Solaveil ST-100 offers excellent UVB protection and due to a tightly controlled particle size distribution provides true transparency on the skin.
Solaveil ST-100 is the first product to be launched under the family name Solaveil Sensation. Solaveil ST-100 is a uniquely coated titanium dioxide dispersion that combines optimum UV performance with enhanced aesthetics enabling you to formulate sensationally light and luxurious UV protection products. Featuring innovative silane coating, which is covered by an international patent, and proven sensory performance this dispersion offers excellent UVB protection while providing true transparency and a sensational feeling on the skin.
The sensational skin feel of Solaveil ST-100 is directly attributed to its patented silane coating technology. Sensory optimised titanium dioxide dispersions typically rely on dimethicone coatings and silicone carrier oils to deliver an elegant skin feel. In contrast, Solaveil ST-100 employs a hydrated silica surface with a hydrophobically modified silane outer coating to deliver a light and luxurious skin feel, without the need for silicone based dispersions.
