Sephora unveils new recruit of beauty influencers for incubator programme


The 27 strong #SephoraSquad are content creators across make-up, hair and skin care

Sephora has named the latest recruits of its influencer incubation programme.

First launched in 2019, the beauty retailer describes #SephoraSquad as a means of creating a ‘true reflection’ of its own customer base.

The 27 influencers chosen this year include Sephora North America employees and bring the chain's total number of content creators to 55.

Each influencer will support the LVMH-owned retailer’s marketing efforts throughout the year and will receive training to help develop their engagement and content.

To narrow down the 2020 applicants, influencers were tasked with asking their followers to submit testimonials in order to 'understand the impact that they had on their community' and ensure their authenticity.

"What I once thought would only be a dream has now become reality and I just don't know where to even begin," wrote #SephoraSquad finalist Thanuska on an Instagram post.

"All I can really think of saying right now is, THANK YOU. Thank you to those who took the time to write testimonials, who have been there from the start of this journey supporting my every move.

"My followers, friends and family I love you all. I really don't have the words to express how grateful and blessed I feel right now because I'm still in shock and can't believe such an opportunity was given to me."

Skin positivity influencer Christina (@barefacedfemme) and new #SephoraSquad member, shared on Instagram: “I am so honored to join with other beauty lovers who I can relate to and support one another.

"As human beings, we have an inherent need to socially connect and to feel a sense of belonging, it’s in our DNA! I have realized that when I connect with others, that is what makes me feel my best.
