LVMH’s Sephora has teamed up with China’s leading on-demand delivery and retail platform to provide a ‘one-hour’ beauty shopping service for customers.

JD Daojia (JDDJ), part of Dada Group, lets users order via its app or mini programme to have products delivered from the nearest Sephora store within one hour by Dada Now’s riders.

More than 70 Sephora stores in China have launched on the platform, covering first and second tier cities.

And, based on an existing Dada Group partnership, these Sephora stores will also be online via JD.com.

By the end of 2021 it is anticipated that all Sephora stores in China will be integrated both on JDDJ and JD.com.

The move is part of a speedy-service revolution not just in China but globally.

JDDJ has previously established partnerships with beauty big-hitters including Watsons, Guerlain and Innisfree, while Sephora works with Instacart, the North American delivery company, to offer US consumers a similarly fast shopping experience.

Meanwhile, retailers and brands including Holland & Barrett, Lloyds and Benefit have worked with Deliveroo to bring goods to UK consumers, and, in May, Estée Lauder Companies linked up with Deliveroo rival Uber Eats to deliver Jo Malone London and Origins products on demand.
