Acquires Europe’s first commercialised 600 litre bench wave system bioreactor

Sederma is focusing its attention on developing cosmetic active ingredients using plant cell cultures derived from vegetal stem cells. At least one of Sederma’s products will be fully produced using this new technology in 2011. Furthermore, the supplier says it will use it to develop other actives based on beneficial selected phytomolecules.

To help achieve this, Sederma has acquired a 600 litre bench wave system bioreactor – the first to be commercialised in Europe.

The company is also in the process of developing the knowledge to offer advanced services and solutions in fields including the optimisation of culture conditions, selection and production of metabolites, analytical methods, generation of a callus bank and cryopreservation of cell lines.
