Revealed: The most searched-for beauty products of 2021 so far

From Pixi’s Glow Tonic to Elemis’ Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm, these are the most popular beauty products among UK consumers this year

UK price comparison website money.co.uk has put together its 2021 Beauty Index, naming the top most searched-for beauty products of 2021.

The company analysed more than 6,500 skus across 20 colour cosmetics and skin care categories, revealing the most popular beauty product in each group.

With more than 250,000 searches, Pixi’s Glow Tonic earned the top spot on the leaderboard as not just the most searched-for toner, but as the most sought-after product in 2021 so far.

What has become an iconic product in beauty, the formula blends glycolic acid, aloe vera and red ginseng and has been backed by skin care authority Caroline Hirons for its performance.

Snapping at its heels with the second most searches on Google was IT Cosmetics’ Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with almost 167,000 searches in the BB cream category.

Topping the list in the foundation class was NARS’ Sheer Glow Foundation; Clarins’ Double Serum was the most searched-for sku in the serum category and The Ordinary’s Squalane Cleanser bested the competition to be crowned the leading Make-up Remover.

Elemis’ Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm was the highest performing face mask, according to money.co.uk’s categories, while Tan-Luxe, Laura Mercier and Benefit also made the list for the most desired self tan, powder and mascara product, respectively.

Money.co.uk also reported the concealer category as the most contested of the 20 groups, with only 1,200 searches between first and second place.

Maybelline’s Fit Me Concealer edged ahead of NARS’ Radiant Creamy Concealer to take the top spot, tipping the scale with its affordable price point of £5.99 compared with NARS’ version, which costs £24.
