French decoration specialist Prad has adorned the new black version of the Baies candle from Maison diptyque.
The limited edition candle, which launched 26 November, posed several technical difficulties for the Lyon-based company, including the printing of dense white and gold hues on a matte black support, and accurate positioning of the decoration on frustoconical glass.
The decor is inspired by the graphic lines of the historic Basile motif and reworked to evoke the veins of hard stones as they appear on one of the walls of the first diptyque boutique, at 34 boulevard Saint-Germain.
Maison diptyque is supporting the World Health Organization, by donating 15% of the sales of the limited edition candle to the Solidarity Fund for the response to Covid-19.
