Portugal continues crackdown on potentially harmful cosmetics
Lightening products under the spotlight
Portuguese authorities have clamped down on personal care products they regard as potentially harmful for a second month running, EU consumer warning network RAPEX has reported.
Action was taken against eight products in October, including customs seizures and sales ban. These included six skin lightening products from the Ivory Coast and six from the Democratic Republic of Congo. All were found to contain ingredients breaching the EU cosmetics directive.
