Pierre Fabre Laboratories has acquired a minority stake in French skin care and supplements brand MiYé.
The French pharmaceutical group’s investment will help the beauty brand ramp up its R&D efforts.
As well as carry out clinical studies and “bolster the scientific and medical endorsement of its products”.
MiYé also plans to expand its brand presence, benefiting from Pierre Fabre Laboratories’ knowledge of the pharmacy market.
In the near term, the brand hopes to launch a personalised support programme involving online consultations with naturopaths and micro nutritionists too.
The financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.
MiYé plans to ramp up its R&D
MiYé, which translates to "good friend" in Provençal, was co-founded by Caroline de Blignières and Anna Oualid in 2020.
Its skin care and supplement product offering focuses on women’s hormonal balance and wellbeing.
“Pierre Fabre Laboratories acquisition of a stake in MiYé two years after our launch is a fantastic endorsement,” said de Blignières.
“It is an invaluable opportunity to strengthen our R&D resources so that we can promote the democratisation of women's hormonal health.
“And work together to redefine the rules of a new ecology for the female body.”
Pierre Fabre Laboratories is a dermo-cosmetics company and private French pharmaceutical group.
Its portfolio includes brands such as Pierre Fabre Oncologie, Eau Thermale Avène, Naturactive, to name a few.
“Caroline and Anna have found a way to support women from puberty to menopause,” commented Frédéric Ennabli, CEO of Pierre Fabre Dermo-Cosmétique.
“They have created a brand with a strong territory, with specialised and differentiating products that are now esteemed by consumers.
“By partnering with MiYé, we are committed to providing our medical and dermatological expertise to develop the best possible responses to take care of all skins affected by hormonal variations.”
