P&G invests in China's logistics and R&D

Multinational underlines commitment to China


Procter & Gamble has begun construction of a new distribution centre in Guangzhou which will be its largest in Asia and its second largest in the world. Costing over US$100m, its construction has been jointly funded by P&G and local government, with the former taking care of the logistics equipment and the latter contributing the land and looking after warehouse construction.

Last month the company also opened a new R&D innovation centre, P&G Technologies (Beijing) Ltd with an investment of US$70m, which will support both its China and global businesses. Over 500 employees from 16 countries will focus on innovation in product areas including personal care, oral care and fabric care as well as infant care and snacks.
