The Texas-based make-up vlogger Jessica Kalil has taken home the beauty influencer industry prize

Nyx has crowned Jessica Kalil as its Beauty Blogger of the Year at the Sixth Annual Nyx Fine Artistry of Cosmetic Elites (FACE) Awards Show in Los Angeles, US

Kalil has more than 3,000 subscribers to her YouTube channel 'Jessica A.M. Kalil', and over 9,000 followers on Instagram.

Her make-up tutorials range from Q&As to theatrical makeovers to everyday looks. Kalil’s winning 90 second FACE video was inspired by a ‘spooky magic show’ set in a fictional time when practising magic was illegal and punishable by the electric chair.

Her win comes with a cash prize of $50,000, one year's supply of Nyx Professional Makeup and the opportunity to kickstart a professional career as a make-up artist.

The FACE awards began in April when thousands of vloggers from around the world were shortlisted by a panel of judges based on the themes Royalty, Animal Kingdom and Cyberpunk.

The semi-finalists were then narrowed down to the top six via rounds of public voting.

The final challenge videos were based on the theme of The Magic of Make-up and were revealed to more than 4,000 beauty fans at the Shrine Auditorium.

Kalil celebrated via Instagram, writing: “Saturday night felt so incredible #jessiesquad!

“It was really a dream come true! It has inspired me to produce more content and to do something very special for my favorite time of the year, October!”

Sarah El-Annan, AVP Integrated Marketing and PR at Nyx, added: "We are so proud of our hard-working and talented contestants and are grateful for the continued support from the beauty community over the past six years."
