The smart vending machines dispense fragrance samples while collecting consumer insight

Odore, the smart fragrance vending and sampling platform, has partnered with luxury London perfumer Miller Harris to offer consumers in the UK capital fine fragrance samples.

Consumers can visit Odore vending machines to receive complimentary samples of their preferred fragrances in exchange for filling out a short survey.

The data collected will then provide Miller Harris with unique consumer insight to boost sales and help future NPD and targeted marketing.

Matt Huband, Global Marketing Director of Miller Harris, told Cosmetics Business: “We were approached by Odore and their enthusiasm was infectious. [This is] a truly innovative new approach to the ancient art of sampling!"

He added: “All customer insight is like gold; however, in this case, the geographical placement of the product will be especially useful to us as we roll out new stores over the coming months.

“We have new doors opening in key locations which will further develop this multi-sensory approach.”

The partnership will see a range of Miller Harris' fragrance samples stocked in Odore machines placed in M Restaurants, a group of fine dining venues across London, in a bid to encourage new consumers to experience the venue while picking up their fragrance samples.

Karan Gupta, co-founder of Odore, said: "We are delighted to have a partnership with Miller Harris and M Restaurants to help us launch our brand, product and service.

“As two leaders in their respective sectors, they see where innovation, technology and data can be beneficial for all parties and their respective business.”

Making its debut in September last year, Odore offers samples from a wide range of fragrance brands in convenient locations across London.

The company plans to expand further into the rest of UK in the next year by partnering with more brands and venues, and hopes to expand into Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the US in the future.
