Partnership now includes Sachtleben’s UV-Titan product

Merck KGaA and Sachtleben Chemie GmbH plan to expand their strategic alliance for mineral UV filters – established in 1995 – to include Sachtleben’s UV-Titan range. The two companies co-develop inorganic UV filters based on microfine titanium dioxide with Merck taking responsibility for the cosmetic application technology, customer service and marketing, and Sachtleben overseeing production.

Until now, the cooperation covered Merck’s Eusolex T line of UV filters only, but from 1 April, Merck will gradually take over the support of international cosmetics manufacturers with regards to the UV-Titan products from Sachtleben’s site in Finland, although Sachtleben will continue to be responsible for the UC-Titan business with dispersion manufacturers and powder refiners in the UV filter market.
