Meat yo’self: Oscar Mayer reignites childhood memories with bologna-inspired face mask

Kraft Heinz-owned brand Oscar Mayer, known for its meat and lunchable products, has paid homage to childhood traditions with a new face mask.

The limited edition face mask, which is said to rejuvenate the skin and improve moisture retention, is a nod to the 'New Year, New You' trope with a meaty take on the self-care space.

Oscar Mayer partnered with K-beauty brand Seoul Mamas to create the face mask (US$5), which is infused with witch hazel, collagen and seaweed that aims to hydrate the skin and promote elasticity.

“Oscar Mayer has a legacy bringing levity to things that have gotten too serious, and beauty is a ripe territory to playfully subvert,” said Lindsey Ressler, Senior Marketing Analyst at Oscar Mayer.

“Inspired by those who used to playfully make masks out of their bologna as kids, this product was born as a modern-day way to spark smiles for fans of Oscar Mayer and beauty enthusiasts alike.

“This is the latest in our brand movement to create work that feels more like pop-art and less like traditional commercial advertising – inspired by the old, modernised for today.”

The face masks are now available via Amazon.
