Direct-selling beauty empire Mary Kay is scaling up its commitment to eco-friendly packaging by joining L’Oréal’s Sustainable Packaging Initiative for Cosmetics (SPICE).
Through the partnership, Mary Kay hopes to drive innovation and adopt sustainable packaging policies within its business.
Mary Kay is the eighteenth company to join the forum alongside beauty heavyweights Chanel, Coty and Estée Lauder Companies.
“Together with SPICE and other industry leaders, Mary Kay is firmly committed to building a future that’s healthier greener and more sustainable for generations to come,” said the company’s VP of Procurement and Supplier Development, Keith Learn.
L’Oréal established the organisation in 2018 with environmental consultant group Quantis in order to shape the future of sustainable packaging.
The forum publishes business-driven methodologies and data to help companies improve the environmental performance of the packaging chain.
