Ahead of the highly anticipated remake of the 1992 movie, MAC Cosmetics has released a Disney’s Aladdin themed collection.
The trio of products are a nod to key motifs from the story, including Arabian-style decoration on the packaging, an embossed Genie’s lamp and shades influenced by an Agrabah sunset.
The eyeshadow palette, which is encased in gold packaging adorned with a hot pink Moorish-like arch, features nine hues from matte nudes to smokey tones and shimmer golds.
Inspired by a bold lip favoured by Aladdin’s leading princess, Jasmine, MAC has created a bright pink lipstick and the bronzer compact has a lotus flower, the character’s favourite flora, on the lid.
The Estée Lauder-owned brand teased the launch yesterday on social media and on Instagram the post had received nearly 140,000 ‘likes’ and more than 2,000 comments, with many consumers asking for more details.
MAC Cosmetics has confirmed that the limited edition collection is set to launch in May, but is yet to reveal the exact date.
