Garden designed by James Basson aims to bring the scents of Provence to life

L’Occitane en Provence has scooped a gold award at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show for its L’Occitane Garden.

The garden was created by designer James Basson, who aimed to bring the feel of Provence to life through the inclusion of more than 250 different plant varities that are specific to the region. All additional materials used in the garden’s design were also native to the Provence area. The brand noted that scent and colour “play an important part and add to the sensorial atmosphere of this garden”.

Olivier Baussan, Founder of L'Occitane, said: "We are so proud that the judges at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show have honoured the L’Occitane Garden with a prestigious gold Medal. James really captures the essence of Provence and brings our brand’s home to the heart of London.”

Last year, L’Occitane also took home a gold medal for its Perfumer’s Garden. This year is L’Occitane’s 40th anniversary, with the brand founded in 1976.
