Jergens Ultra Healing Moisturizer 3oz and 10oz products could show the presence of Pluralibacter gergovia

Kao’s stateside business Kao USA has issued a voluntary recall of its Jergens Ultra Healing Moisturizer 3oz and 10oz products amid contamination fears.

Consumers are being asked to check if their product is part of the recall, which is due to the potential presence of the bacterium Pluralibacter gergovia.

This typically poses little risk to healthy people but can affect those with weakened immune systems and Kao says it is urging consumers to discontinue use of the recalled lotion as a precautionary measure.

The specific lots involved in the recall are Jergens Ultra Healing Moisturizer, manufactured between 1-18 October 2021. The affected lot codes for the 3oz size are: ZU712851, ZU712861, ZU712871, ZU712881, ZU712911, ZU722851 and ZU722881.

The affected lot codes for the 10oz size, meanwhile, are: ZU722741, ZU722771, ZU722781, ZU732781, ZU732791, ZU732801, ZU732811 and ZU732821.
