Actor and musician Jared Leto has been named as the new face of Gucci Guilty. The star will appear in a new campaign, due to be shot in Venice, Italy, under the direction of Gucci Creative Director, Alessandro Michele.
Gucci originally broke the news on social picture sharing app, Snapchat. Leto appeared in a short clip on the app, alongside Michele, as part of a three-day long takeover of the brand’s feed hosted by the actor.
Leto had previously teased the news on his Instagram page, posting a selfie alongside the caption: “Taking over @gucci Snapchat for the next three days come say hi xoxoxo #GuiltyNotGuilty.”
As well as appearing in a number of highly acclaimed films, including Dallas Buyers Club, for which he won an Academy Award, Leto is also the lead singer in multi-platinum selling band Thirty Seconds to Mars. Next year, Leto is also due to appear in the highly anticipated Suicide Squad as the anti-hero Joker.
Leto has previously been the face of Hugo Boss’ Red perfume, starring in key campaigns back in 2013. Previous campaigns for the Gucci Guilty range have featured actress Evan Rachel Wood and Captan America star Chris Evans.
The official release of the new Gucci Guilty campaign has yet to be confirmed.
