Slovenian cosmetics brand AlpStories has taken tech-enhanced retail to new heights by enlisting an on site robot to create personalised skin care products.

The store invites customers to create custom products, design packaging and add a personalised photo before a robot mixes up the product. “The robot is from Japan. The Yaskawa Corporation produce the same type of robots from biomedical robot cell – but the design of the robot cell with all printers, feeders, agitators and communication software is made by us or our external partners,” said Danija Hubman, Co-founder of AlpStories.

Hubman added: “We developed the new concept instore – the robot is a technical tool, allowing for the possibility to create over 24 million combinations of cosmetic products. You can control the robot in Zagreb from your computer when you create your product at home and orders go directly to the robot cell and Balthazar prepares the product without any other human interaction.”
