In 2019, beauty consumers were named the most ethical shoppers by market research firm Mintel, with almost 50% likely to consider environmental factors before purchasing.

With this in mind, husband and wife duo Laura and Chris Franklin-Hollier founded their dedicated online shop for eco-friendly beauty brands, Persephone Beauty.

After celebrating its first year in business with a fresh rebrand, Cosmetics Business catches up with Laura Franklin-Hollier about her favourite beauty brands, which categories excite her in 2020 and what Persephone is looking ahead to next year.


How many new brands have you brought on this year?

We've brought onboard four brands so far. We're the exclusive UK retailer for a selection of Sarisha Beauty, a Canadian brand with gorgeous packaging. We've also added Kind2 plastic-free hair care, Flexi Skin's rose quartz Gua Sha & Roller and finally &Sisters, the conscious period brand.
