The formerly retired model will front the make-up brand’s #GIRLFORGOOD social media and marketing campaign
Hourglass has announced that 90s model Jenny Shimizu will be the face of its GIRL Lipstick Collection.
The 49-year-old former catwalk model is currently working towards becoming a Los Angeles Police Officer, while representing the new product and the #GIRLFORGOOD social media campaign.
Hourglass’ latest 20 colour range attempts to promote positivity through its shade names, such as believer, visionary and idealist.
Consumers are encouraged to share a photo of themselves or a friend, using one of the names, as well as go online to the #GIRLFOODGOOD social image generator.
The image generator will allow the consumer to upload their photo, to pick a shade name and to place the word on the photo.
Shimizu commented: “We live in a world of unprecedented reach; it's a time when anyone can use their influence for good.”
She has previously modeled for Calvin Klein’s fragrance CK One and Shiseido, as well as major fashion houses.
"Jenny is not just the face of GIRL, but a partner and an inspiration – she is fearless, confident and passionate. She is more than a model; she is a role model," said Hourglass Founder Carisa Janes.
"It's imperative that we are sharing stories, like Jenny's, of confidence, inspiration and of making a difference.
