Gucci celebrates tailoring expertise with new scent Made to Measure

Published: 3-Jul-2013

Procter & Gamble owned fragrance brand Gucci has released a new fragrance for men named Made to Measure. Designed as a companion fragrance to Première, the brand’s major women’s fragrance release last year, the fragrance’s name comes from the luxury brand’s Made to Measure bespoke tailoring service for men.

The spicy oriental scent opens on Calabrian bergamot, Tunisian orange flower and French lavender, with heart notes of Sri Lankan nutmeg, water lily, juniper berry, plum, and cinnamon, and base of Cistus Labdanum, patchouli, leather and amber. Designed in the same shape as the Gucci Première flacon, the Made to Measure bottle features a slate and pearl grey colour scheme, which is said to resemble the colours of a bespoke Gucci suit. The bottle also features a solid metal cap in gold along with the brand’s logo also in gold.

The fragrance will be fronted by Hollywood actor James Franco, who is also the face of Gucci’s Made to Measure tailoring service. Franco, 35, has been the face of Gucci’s men’s fragrances since 2008, starring in ad campaigns for some of the brand’s bestsellers including Gucci by Gucci Pour Homme and Gucci Pour Homme Sport. Made to Measure edt is now available exlsuively at Harrods department store priced from £49. It will enter wider distribution from August.
