The Azelis-owned company will be responsible for the ingredient’s distribution in the US market

San Diego-based chemicals firm Genomatica has named Glenn as the exclusive distributor for its Brontide ingredient in the US.

The Azelis-owned company is specifically dedicated to distributing personal care speciality ingredients and is said to be renowned for its technical competence and focus on sustainability.

Genomatica’s Brontide is said to have taken four years to develop and was introduced to the cosmetics market in 2018.

The natural butylene glycol plant-based ingredient is an alternative to petroleum-based products, a byproduct of the fossil fuel industry.

Brontide can be applied to moisturisers, shampoos, body washes and creams, and is used for moisture retention, improved texture and as a solubiliser for plant extracts, flavour and fragrances.

Genomatica first launched in the European and Asian markets through Daicel and Azelis distributors.
