From forklift driver to business tycoon, Leighton Denny MBE discusses the trends he predicts will take off next year and why enjoying what you are doing is key to success

Leighton Denny, the man who was told by a school teacher that he would "end up in the gutter", was awarded an MBE for his services to business in 2015.

Having founded his nail care brand Leighton Denny Expert Nails (LDEN) in 2005, he went on to develop and launch numerous nail care products that have become a staple on beauty retail shelves.

After stepping away from his business in 2017 – although still retaining a majority share – he has been focusing on new projects including the launch of his best-selling autobiography.

Here, Denny talks to Cosmetics Business about his future focus and advice for fledgling beauty entrepreneurs.


What have you been working on beauty-wise over the past year?

This year I’ve been focusing more on product development so, although there is a lot in the pipeline for 2020, unfortunately I can’t divulge details quite yet.
