The mass brands changed hands from Unilever and P&G to CLT International in 2011, and seven years later are moving on again

Hair care brands Salon Selectives and Daily Defense have been acquired by Canada-based Evergreen Consumer Brands.

Through the acquisition, Evergreen says it will become the leading supplier of premium value health and beauty products.

Steve Immel, Co-CEO of Evergreen Consumer Brands, said: “We are extremely excited to add these two trusted globally-recognised brands to our portfolio.

“This transaction will immediately broaden our global reach and increase our talent bench.

Evergreen has a long history of providing our retail partners products that blend quality, price, innovation and point of difference.”

The two mass brands will join Evergreen’s portfolio of personal care brands, which includes Barbasol, Silkience and PureSilk.

Prior to CLT International, Salon Selectives was owned by Unilever and Daily Defense by P&G, before being sold in 2011.

Under CLT, both were rebranded. Jack Wilkinson, CEO of CLT, added: “CLT is confident that Evergreen will continue to expand and develop these brands and that their addition to Evergreen will create real synergy for the retailer and consumer.”
