Elie Saab dresses in couture

Women’s couture brand Elie Saab is jumping on the fashion/fragrance trend with its new perfume, L’Eau Couture, which will launch in late January.

The fragrance was created by Francis Kurkdjian along the theme of spring in the city, and features head notes of Calabrian bergamot essence, magnolia, rose and lemon, a heart note of orange blossom and base notes of green almond and vanilla infusion.

“The idea to create a Couture Eau is quite uncommon in this register,” said Kurkdjian. “It’s a sophisticated, sensual freshness, far removed from the conventions found in fragrances usually created in this repertoire.”

The perfume will be available in 30ml, 50ml and 90ml edt formats costing €43, €63 and €89 respectively.

Publicity will feature model Anja Rubik shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, and shots of the bottle with a cityscape behind. France and the United Arab Emirates have been chosen as the countries for initial roll-out, with the rest of the world to follow in mid-spring.
