Elestan turns back the clock

New from Laboratoires Serobiologiques is Elastan, a four-in-one botanical anti-ageing ingredient. The active, which contains manilkara leaf extract, boasts anti-elastase properties enabling it to fight against the degradation of the elastic fibre network and preserve the skin’s youth. In skin where the elastic fibre network is already damaged, Elastan contributes to its recovery by stimulating the production of elastin. According to Laboratoires Serobiologiques, Elastan also stimulates the synthesis of elastin-associated proteins emilin-1 and fibulin-5 to enable the correct organisation of newly synthesised elastic fibres. In addition, the product inhibits the rigidification of the skin’s surface fibres caused by glycation.

Elestan is available as Elestan LS 9913 [glycerin (and) manilkara leaf extract (and) water], a brown syrupy liquid, and Elestan PW LS 9879 [manilkara leaf extract (and) maltodextrin], a beige powder. Both are soluble in water.
