Local supply is paramount in key emerging markets

DuPont has begun production for ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) resins at its joint venture – Beijing Hua Mei Polymer Company Limited – the company’s first operation in China to make EVA.

“With local production, we have strengthened DuPont’s position in the world’s fastest growing EVA market and can better support our customers as they grow and expand to specialtiy products for high value applications,” says William J Harvey, president, DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers. “DuPont is committed to growing in China and other key emerging markets around the world and to using our science-based innovations to meet the evolving needs of our customers.”

The EVA products will be marketed under the Elvax trademark to a wide range of sectors including packaging as well as adhesives, footwear, renewable energy and electronics.
