Development Chemist – Cambridgeshire – £30-34,000 (AE1801A)

Approach this role with a desire to grow with the company

Do you have a strong scientific background, and expertise that you are keen to apply to a fast-paced dynamic market?

Are you experienced in the formulation and development of skin care, hair care and personal care products?

A rapidly expanding beauty manufacturer is keen to recruit a capable, experienced, and creative development chemist. The ideal candidate will have a stellar track record, preferably within FMCG, and will approach this role with a desire to grow with the company.

This role will centre around the research, development, and manufacture of innovative and commercially beneficial products. Using your commercial acumen, you will respond to NPD briefs to create safe, legal, and cost-effective products that will drive market competitiveness.

You will work directly with the Head of R&D and Technical Director to flag issues that arise during product development and to create documentation for new products. You will approve the stability testing on all skin care and hair care products, review the technical data that test discrepancies will present, and liaise with the wider team of chemists regarding issues and results.

This is a role in a pivotal team that will require you to work collaboratively across teams and departments, therefore you must be committed to ensuring an open and honest communication style amongst your team.

You will work to create new product prototypes for the Business Development Team, work with raw material representatives, and liaise with the Process, Purchasing, Production and Quality departments.

You will have the ability to lead, motivate and inspire others, as you push the team around you to strive for excellence. Your interpersonal skills will come to the fore as you carry out the training and development of staff involved in the day-to-day activities of the department.
