P&G Prestige agrees to 31 January acquisition date

Designer Parfums has reached an agreement with P&G Prestige to acquire the Ghost fine fragrance business. Subject to contract, the deal is expected to take place on 31 January 2012.

This acquisition follows the recent addition of the Jean Patou and Monsoon fragrance brands to Designer Parfums’ portfolio, which also includes Agent Provocateur, Worth Paris, Aigner Parfums and Jean Louis Scherrer.

Commenting on the decision, the company’s managing director, Dilesh Mehta, said: “Ghost is a perfect fit for Designer Parfums. Ghost is one of the leading premium fragrance brands in the UK market with top 20 national ranking and retail sales of around £35m pounds.”

Fashion brand Ghost was founded by Tanya Sarne in 1984. Its first signature scent was launched in 2000 and the brand has introduced regular subsequent launches.
