Male fragrance has launched a short film highlighting its Love the Ocean campaign

Davidoff Cool Water has launched a short film highlighting its Love the Ocean campaign, which supports the National Geographic Society’s Pristine Seas project. The scheme aims to protect 10% of the world’s oceans by 2020.

The film asks all viewers to take action to make a difference and stars Davidoff brand ambassador and actor Scott Eastwood. Eastwood said: “As individuals, we have more power to change the world than we think.” Shah Selbe, National Geographic Explorer, added: "Even a single person can make a massive amount of difference when it comes to ocean conservation."

Shot in San Diego, near Eastwood’s home, the film demonstrates his commitment to fighting water pollution by showing a beach clean-up in progress. The operation was organised in partnership with the National Geographic Society and the Surfrider Foundation.

Estimates suggest that 80% of water pollution originates on the land and some experts suggest that the ocean could contain more plastic than fish by 2050, when measured by weight. Beach clean-ups are though to play a key role in reducing this pollution.

Davidoff has supported 14 Pristine Seas expeditions since 2012, helping to form five marine protected areas: Gabon, Palau, Pitcairn, Galapagos and Desventuradas. The film will be used to support the ongoing digital campaign this summer as further beach clean-ups in key areas are planned. Davidoff is asking people to get involved in whatever small way they can. In the film, Eastwood says: "It starts with one – one hour of your time, one day, one piece of trash."

Davidoff Cool Water has also committed to protecting an additional 10,000 square metres of ocean for every bottle of Davidoff Cool Water sold.
