The beauty industry trade show will now take place from 29-31 October at the Bombay Convention and Exhibition Centre in Mumbai

Cosmoprof India 2020 has become the latest cosmetics industry trade show to be postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis, in what it described as a “difficult but necessary” decision.

Originally scheduled to take place between 2-4 September, the event will now be held from 29-31 October at the Bombay Convention and Exhibition Centre in Mumbai.

Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director of India's Informa Markets, which organises the trade show, said: “It is a difficult but necessary decision to postpone the event.

“The Covid-19 situation presents a mixed and constantly changing scenario for the organisers of exhibitions worldwide.

“With an unflinching focus on the wellbeing of our customers, partners and employees, we believe the new date will allow more time for normality and confidence to return to the marketplace, ease travel restrictions and provide all-around better conditions for exhibitors and visitors to engage.

“This will ensure that our stakeholders know they can receive the same outstanding experience and business that they have come to expect from the reputed Cosmoprof India Show, a 360° platform for the domestic and international beauty community.”

First launched in 2018, Cosmoprof India is expected to welcome 400 exhibitors and 10,000 visitors to its latest iteration, spanning sectors across the beauty industry from cosmetics, toiletries and hair care to raw materials and ingredients and packaging solutions to help attendees improve their business.

The announcement follows the company's decision to postpone its other major global trade shows this year, which were scheduled to take place in Bologna, Italy and Las Vegas in the US.

The organisers added that they are continuing to monitor the developing Covid-19 situation and remain in close communication with local government bodies, the industry and other key stakeholders, with the aim of providing an “enhanced trading experience” for India's beauty community.
