Clinical trials support Avenacare oat beta glucan
Test show Biovelop ingredient to reduce irritation among other effects
Clinical studies carried out using Avenacare, an oat beta glucan product from Sweden’s Biovelop AB have shown the ingredient to provide multiple benefits for hair and skin. The product was found to reduce skin irritation and inflammation, prevent UV-induced erythema, reduce and sooth UV-induced erythema and increase tensile hair strength.
“The successful completion of these clinical studies provides scientific substantiation of the considerable anecdotal evidence relating to the use of Avenacare oat beta glucan in skin care and now also opens up the category of hair care,” noted David Peters, director of sales and marketing for Biovelop. “Avenacare offers a natural and cost-effective way to incorporate active oat beta glucan into a wide range of personal care and cosmetic products.”
