Consumers have created more than 235 million boards dedicated to the festive season on the digital sharing platform
Image-sharing platform Pinterest has revealed its Christmas Report 2018, predicting this festive season’s must-have food, decor and beauty trends.
With more than 62 million people using the digital app to hunt for ideas for the holiday season, more than 235 million online boards are created to help consumers plan for Christmas, Hanukkah, and New Year.
“Every year, people turn to Pinterest to plan for all of those upcoming celebrations and round out the year with family and friends,” said Pinterest.
Top festive beauty trends:
Searches for ‘holiday looks’ rose by 146% this year, with Pinterest users on the look-out for glamorous, as well as relaxing, outfit and beauty ideas.
Interest in dark berry lips rose by 39% as beauty fans have chosen the fruit-inspired shade as the top look of Christmas 2018.
Searches for ‘foil finish’ eyeshadow soared by 169% with many consumers wanting to add a touch of sparkle for the Instagram-worthy look.
The appetite for glitter has extended to manicures this season as searches for shimmer nails rose by 60%.
