Chanel opens first beauty boutique in Paris

Published: 3-Jul-2013

The new store will house all of Chanel’s make-up collections

French luxury fashion and beauty brand Chanel has opened its first ever beauty boutique in France, at 382 rue Saint-Honoré in Paris’ prestigious first arrondissement. It is a few doors down from Dior’s beauty boutique and around the corner from Chanel’s original Paris outlet on Rue Cambon, which is currently undergoing renovations.

The new store, which the brand is billing as a pop-up shop, will house all of Chanel’s make-up collections, in addition to pre-release products and new colours. The shop will also display the fashion house’s entire perfume range, which includes iconic scents No5 and Coco, as well as its Exclusifs line. Perfume consultants will be on hand to offer advice to customers.

Chanel is following in the footsteps of Bourjois, Roger & Gallet and Dior, in creating an own brand beauty store. However, in contrast to the majority of cases where fashion and beauty brands of the same name are owned by the same company, Chanel’s beauty and fragrance arm was bought by Bourjois before World War II and the fashion and beauty arms have remained separate ever since.
