Rue du Commerce sells an extensive collection of beauty and fragrance brands

Retail giant Carrefour could soon acquire Rue du Commerce, a French ecommerce company that sells beauty and well-being products, as well as homeware and technology.

Carrefour revealed it is in the middle of negotiating with development and investment company Altarea Cogedim over acquiring 100% of the shares of Rue du Commerce.

If the acquisition goes ahead, Rue du Commerce would strengthen Carrefour’s omni-channel strategy in France, and its position in the non-food e-commerce market.

Rueducommerce.fr receives more than 5 million unique visitors per month. The company lists its beauty and well-being products under its ‘mode’ or ‘fashion’ tab. The website has an extensive beauty and fragrance offering, with brands including Calvin Klein, Azzaro, Paco Rabanne, Kerastase, Gloss!!, Markwins, and L’Oréal.

The completion of the deal is subject to the signature of final agreements.
