Carrefour has completed the acquisition of Rue du Commerce, the French e-commerce portal.

The supermarket retailer bought the online company from Altarea Cogedim, after revealing in August that it was in negotiations over a purchase of 100% of Rue du Commerce's shares. Rue du Commerce is a major player in the non-food e-commerce category and receives nearly five million unique visitors per month.

The company lists its beauty and well-being products under its ‘mode’ or ‘fashion’ tab. The website has an extensive beauty and fragrance offering, with brands including Calvin Klein, Azzaro, Paco Rabanne, Kerastase, Gloss!!, Markwins and L’Oréal.
