The Perfume Shop has found that new launches by Gucci as well as classic scents from Dior and Chanel were the hottest items among consumers
The most popular fragrances of 2021 have been revealed by British retailer The Perfume Shop.
Total reported company sales from the high street chain highlighted that nostalgic classic scents and new blockbuster launches earned a spot on the top ten list.
"The personal memories evoked from a perfume and the feel-good spritz of a scent continue to make it a popular choice," said Andrea Rickard, Trading Director of The Perfume Shop.
Britain's number one scent, according to The Perfume Shop, was Dior's Johnny Depp-fronted Sauvage, followed by Chanel's amber floral Coco Mademoiselle.
Meanwhile, the biggest launches of the year included Phantom by Paco Rabanne and Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia, which were released in July.

The findings come as The Perfume Shop reported that consumers were shopping earlier than ever amid rumours of shortages and potential Christmas lockdowns, as sales were up by 29% compared to 2019.
However, last minute sales remained high with 27% of pre-Christmas sales in the final week.
Commenting on 2021 sales, Rickard added: "Customers have had another tumultuous year, but the gift of perfume is proving to hit the right note for friends and loved ones to share the love this Christmas.
